What they're saying about Citizens Club for Growth
More about the Club
"[The Club] scored some of its biggest victories in its five-year history [in 2004].
[It] concentrated on helping aggressive reformers [Sen. Tom] Coburn and [Sen. Jim] DeMint. Both had to wade through fierce Republican primary opposition and were not favorites of the GOP's Washington establishment."

On 'Hardball,' we've analyzed, scrutinzed, and dissected just about every campaign television commercial that has been released in this election. Most of them, of course, are misleading. But many of them are also quite effective. And perhaps the most effective television commercials on the right come from an organization known as the 'Citizens Club for Growth.'
—David Shuster, MSNBC. September 18, 2004
I want to say thank you to Citizens Club for Growth, one of the nation's most conservative organizations! They've always taken on tough races in order to help conservative candidates win in Republican primaries. Citizens Club for Growth added a significant punch - just when we needed it most.
—After winning the GOP primary run-off in North Carolina's 10th district, Patrick McHenry, thanks the Club for its endorsement as part of his victory speech. August 18th, 2004
The conservative Citizens Club for Growth this summer in Oklahoma and Kansas scored some of its biggest victories in its five-year history, and may record another Tuesday in North Carolina.
In North Carolina, the Club backs State Rep. Patrick McHenry, a strong anti-tax conservative, against Sheriff David Huffman, plagued by charges of corruption, in a heavily Republican congressional district's runoff.
The organization this summer was behind the nomination for the Senate in Oklahoma of anti-tax former Rep. Tom Coburn, running against the Republican establishment. Coburn has taken a double-digit lead in the polls against Democratic Rep. Brad Carson. In Kansas, the Club was also a big player in the ousting of pro-tax Republican legislative leaders, including State Rep. Bill Kassebaum (son of former U.S. Sen. Nancy Kassebaum and grandson of the late former Gov. Alf Landon).

What Our Members Are Saying...
Citizens Club for Growth provides an invaluable service for those of us who want to promote, and are committed to, good government.
-- Rick Riedmiller, Club Member since 2004
I am excited to know that Citizens Club for Growth exists and that somehow you found me and sent me an invitation to join . It seems like I am talking about you all too frequently to colleagues, neighbors, family, and friends.
There is strength in unity . Together we can make a difference. I always believed that I could make a difference in the way our government functions and now I believe I found a great vehicle to accomplish that end.

Congratulations on the growth of the Club! The Club is a great idea at the right time, and every day that passes brings that point more home to me. I receive Republican funding solicitations in the mail at the rate of three a day, and I will not accept phone solicitations. The solicitations are professionally prepared hack pieces that appeal to emotional and debased concepts such as hate for Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. They NEVER address the qualifications of the candidate for whom funding is sought. The best thing that can be said is that they jump on Bush's coattails -- and what kind of information is delivered with that inexpensive approach? I'm disgusted with this Madison Ave approach. Thank God you've come along with a principled and practical method for evaluating candidates, and for marshaling support for them.

I am very pleased to have my name linked with such a hard-hitting conservative organization of like-minded individuals. Keep up the good work and keep our candidates and elected officials on their toes.
—Joyce Watter, Club Member since 2004
Liberals are afraid of the truth. Conservatives (except for Citizens Club for Growth) are afraid of liberals.
—Archie Richards, Club Member since 2002
Citizens Club for Growth has made political life worth living for me. It is probably the only ray of light left that shares my beliefs and hopes for bettering education and the workplace for those who need it most. We CAN get results with our candidates because they are NOT part of the country club establishment that has cost us so dearly in my adult lifetime [Kemp simply couldn't do it all by himself, could he?] and more often than not tax reform, school choice, and SSA privatization is common with our candidates, and that's a bonus in my book.
With 15,000 of us and a couple of hundred bucks when you urgently need it, what a powerful purpose we can serve. What a difference we can make!
—Bob Bruce, Club Member since 1999
