Reason 11 to Dump Chafee: For all the grief that the NRSC and Chafee give Steve Laffey for raising taxes as the rescuing mayor of the bankruptcy-bound Cranston, they conveniently ignore the fact that Chafee himself raised taxes a number of times as the mayor of Warwick back in the 1990s (here, here, here, and here). And Warwick wasn't in the financially distressed situation that Cranston was! Chafee raised taxes just so he could spend more!
