The Lamont Family Tree
The editors of the Waterbury Republican-American newspaper in Connecticut have my deepest admiration. Even though the odds are stacked against them -- they are a small conservative newspaper in an extremely liberal area of the country -- it doesn't prevent them from saying what they mean. In today's editorial, they talk about how "Red Ned" Lamont's family tree contains a lot of proud socialists and communists. Excerpt:
They are blood brothers, or more accurately, fellow travelers. Just as journalism has become a hornet's nest of socialism (communism not yet perfected), if you shake Mr. Lamont's family tree, a lot of Red apples will fall.
