CA-50: Election Day
Voters in California's 50th congressional district are having a special election today to replace former Congressman Duke Cunningham, who resigned under the shame of corruption late last year.
National Journal's Hotline will be live-blogging the results. Also, here is the final poll conducted by Survey USA.
This district is a safe Republican seat, but because of its quirky election format, Democrat Francine Busby could win the race. The way it works is that all candidates from all parties run in the same open primary. If the top vote-getter receives over 50%, then he is declared the winner and there is no general election. However, if nobody gets over 50%, then the top vote getter from each party will face off in the general. Bear this in mind when you review the poll.
