Paul's right -- pledge breakers tend not to move into positions of greater responsibility. Just ask pledge breaker George Nethercutt.
Conversely, pledge keepers, folks like Pat Toomey, Tom Coburn, Jim DeMint and Mark Sanford, all have very bright futures ahead of them.
Enjoy the back benches, Jeff.

Speaking of Mark Sanford, I hope all Club Members have visited the site and signed the petition to draft Gov. Sanford for President in 2008:
I really think the Club should get involved with this effort as soon as absolutely possible.
Merry Christmas
P.S. I couldn't agree more about Flake. I have a lot of respect for Congressan Flake, but if you don't have your word, what do you have?

Excellent point about Sanford, DeMint, Coburn and Toomey. Frankly, I'm not surprised Flake chose to stay. It just points to the need for a constitutional amendment that will enforce term limits on all members of Congress. And if these politicans aren't sure that they're not going to step down after such-and-such years, then don't make the promise in the first place. Breaking it only makes them look bad.
